I am Stas Gorelik, a graduate of the George Washington University, where I earned a PhD in political science (2024).

My current research focuses on ostensibly legal and subtle electoral manipulation, as well as government-sponsored mass mobilization in autocracies.

Within this agenda, I have examined voter reactions to the disqualification of opposition candidates in Russia, the electoral performance of namesake candidates in Ukraine, and pro-government rallies in Russia and Belarus.

Currently, I am also working on a project examining the relationship between mobile internet shutdowns in Russia and public opinion, including attitudes toward the Russo-Ukrainian war (see my research).

As a teacher and educator, I recently designed online political science courses featuring professors from UC Berkeley, Harvard, and Oxford, and moderated seminars within these courses (see sample course program).
